Daejeon International Marketing Enterprise (DIME) hosted the 2021 Daejeon Medi Fair from November 17 to 18 on and offline for overseas buyers, with the Korea Tourism Organization and Korea Health Industry Development Institute as sponsors.

The event was organized with the anticipation that international travel restrictions will be gradually lifted, with the vaccination rate on the rise in Korea and other parts of the world. The aim was to help medical institutions and healthcare enterprises and agencies in Daejeon and overseas hospitals and travel agencies network with one another and create new business opportunities based on medical tourism.

Eleven hospitals and enterprises in Daejeon participated in a presentation of healthcare technology and enterprises for thirty-one buyers from China, Mongolia, and Russia, and in-depth discussions were carried out through a hundred one-on-one business meetings. Also, members of the GHKOL Expert Committee of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute offered one-on-one consulting for capacity building in relation to marketing to foreign patients and laws concerning expanding into overseas markets.

Daejeon Metropolitan City and DIME plan to invite buyers who participated in the 2021 Daejeon Medi Fair to a FAM tour where they will get to witness the advanced medical infrastructure and services in Daejeon and explore major attractions of the city, such as Shinsegae Art & Science.
