Daejeon Metropolitan City held an opening ceremony for its 'Daejeon Medical Tourism Philippines Center' in Manila on May 27, followed by a medical tourism promotional briefing for medical institutions and agencies on May 28, officially launching its entry into the Southeast Asian medical tourism market.
The newly opened 'Daejeon Medical Tourism Philippines Center' will serve as an integrated platform that directly promotes Daejeon's excellent medical services and wellness tourism resources while supporting international patient attraction, consultation, and follow-up care.
Daejeon Metropolitan City has established a strategic partnership with AIRMARK, a leading local medical tourism agency in the Philippines. It plans to actively promote medical tourism and patient referral programs centered around the global center. Through these efforts, the city aims not only to raise awareness of Daejeon medical tourism in the Philippine market but also to expand its patient base by developing and supporting various customized medical and wellness products.
In the future, the center is expected to play a pivotal role in promoting Daejeon medical tourism through continuous promotion via online and offline channels, providing medical consultation services, and participating in local events.
Taeyoung Jung, Director of the Sports and Health Bureau of Daejeon Metropolitan City, stated, “The opening of the global center marks the starting point for introducing Daejeon's medical competitiveness to the Southeast Asian market in earnest. We expect that sustainable international medical cooperation and the attraction of foreign patients will have a positive ripple effect on the regional economy.”
