
Daejeon Medical Tourism Draws Attention at 2025 Busan International Medical Tourism Convention
The Daejeon Tourism Organization participated in the 2025 Busan International Medical Tourism Convention, held at BEXCO in Busan on September 5-6, where it operated a promotional pavilion showcasing Daejeon’s medical and wellness tourism. At the event, Daejeon expanded possibilities for global cooperation by meeting with overseas buyers and agencies, while showcasing the competitiveness of its city brand, which links medical care and tourism.
The Daejeon medical tourism promotional pavilion presented new attractions of medical tourism by introducing Daejeon’s specialized medical infrastructure, wellness tourism destinations, and signature regional festivals. The social media follow-up event for on-site visitors received enthusiastic responses throughout the convention.
One international visitor expressed satisfaction, stating, “It was valuable to learn about Daejeon medical tourism here in Busan.” Regarding the Kkumdori Ramen received as a prize, the visitor commented, “It’s not just a souvenir—it carries Daejeon’s culture and symbols, making it especially memorable.”
Building on this success, the Daejeon Tourism Organization continues to strengthen its differentiated city brand, encompassing medical and wellness tourism, and advances toward becoming a global leader in medical tourism.

Daejeon Medical & Healing Experience at Geumsan
The Daejeon Tourism Organization participated in the 43rd Geumsan World Ginseng Festival, held from September 19 to 28, and operated a medical and wellness promotional booth. Over the ten days, approximately 1,500 people visited the booth, successfully raising awareness of Daejeon’s medical tourism.
Notably, international patient attraction institutions—Konyang University Hospital, Phil Hospital of Korean Medicine, and Barun Mind Hospital—participated in the event, providing on-site medical consultations and distributing multilingual brochures and promotional materials, giving domestic and international tourists direct access to information about Daejeon’s medical tourism.
The currently trending “Kkumdori Ramen” prize event and sachet-making experience attracted considerable attention and positive responses. One participant commented, “Participating in the roulette event to win prizes while learning about Daejeon medical tourism was enjoyable and informative.” An international tourist remarked, “Beyond simply enjoying the festival, I was impressed to receive direct consultations about Daejeon’s medical services and wellness programs.”
Through participation in the Geumsan World Ginseng Festival, the Daejeon Tourism Organization presented a medical tourism promotion model that resonates with citizens and tourists alike. The organization plans to strengthen collaboration with international patient attraction institutions and participate in major domestic exhibitions and festivals to promote Daejeon’s excellent medical infrastructure and wellness resources to broader audiences.
