Health and Healing in Daejeon - Welcoming Medical Tourists from Mongolia

The Daejeon Tourism Organization successfully conducted two medical tourism familiarization tours for employees of the Ulaanbaatar Electricity Distribution Network (UBEDN) from Mongolia during April and May.

Participants in these familiarization tours experienced the charm of Daejeon's specialized medical services and wellness tourism resources through various itineraries combining medical and tourism activities. Beginning with health check-ups at Barun Mind Hospital in Daejeon, they visited the Korea Electric Power Corporation Daejeon Sejong Chungnam Headquarters and Electric Power Research Institute, toured Hanbat Arboretum and Hanbit Tower, Daejeon Expo Aquarium, and enjoyed shopping tours in Daejeon.

One participant expressed high satisfaction: “Compared to Mongolia, advanced medical equipment enabled accurate examinations, and I was delighted with the ability to receive prescriptions and follow-up care consultations through prompt examination results.” Another participant commented, “I realized that Daejeon is a city equipped with medical technology, wellness, and shopping tourism,” indicating high satisfaction with the familiarization tour.

This familiarization tour served as an essential opportunity to promote Daejeon's excellent medical infrastructure to potential Mongolian medical tourists. Based on this, the Daejeon Tourism Organization plans to pursue continuous promotional marketing targeted at Mongolia and develop customized medical tourism programs to attract Mongolian medical tourists in the future.
